DREAM Project and Orica Join Forces to Promote Reading in Pueblo Viejo, Sánchez Ramírez

Pueblo Viejo, Sánchez Ramírez, Dominican Republic – DREAM Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality educational opportunities and promoting reading among children, youth, and families in the Dominican Republic, joined forces with Orica, one of the world's leading mining and infrastructure solutions providers, to host a book fair at the Arroyo Vuelta rural primary school in Pueblo Viejo, Sánchez Ramirez, themed “Book Safari,” as part of the DREAM Project’s "Mi Propia Biblioteca" (My Very Own Library) program, which aims to encourage reading by providing students with quality books they can take home.

On Wednesday, May 15th, thanks to Orica’s sponsorship and community commitment, this event provided reading materials to a total of 100 students from the Arroyo Vuelta community. Additionally, it engaged participants in a unique experience that combined fun and learning through activities such as face painting, storytelling, and puppetry. Moreover, the DREAM Project library team conducted an informative workshop for the Arroyo Vuelta primary school staff, covering topics such as book categorization, the importance of literacy, teamwork in the classroom, and techniques to enhance read-aloud sessions.
